Is Premiere Pro CC fragile? analog capture problems.

i have pp cc on 64 bit windows 7 machine. adequate ram, inadequate gpu. (older nvidia quadro). have working in ps , lr years , had video project (daughter's wedding). needed capture analog. used grass valley converter plugged firewire. installed pp cc. ran it.

 

good news: interface , workflow familiar , good.

 

bad news: during capture lock up. task manager- force reboot.

 

better news: disabled hardware acceleration. , capture worked. no lost frames, sound good.

 

bad news: after capturing 40 minutes in couple of clips. clicked on lower left view captures. pp closed abruptly. reopened , clips shorten 2 minutes each. assumed pp works scratch disk , memory , writes finished file.

 

so far have been working on "edge" of pp using older video card. premiere pro fragile? not mind error messages sudden collapse of system , loss of work downright saddening. can see investing time , money going. .....

 

i disable software acceleration , try again. walk away computer until done no multitasking. enough?
