Is there something I can put into a microsoft source document that will enable Acrobat to automatically find fields when creating a form?

underlines, underlines leading colon, etc work 25% of time.  in other words create pdfs microsoft word, excel, power point , generic scans.  use automatic form field creation

to turn pdf fillable form.  automatic field detection on average locates maybe 25% of fillable form fields.  spend hours manually creating form fields.  acrobat uses logic to

locate fields. if knew build source documents differently.  live cycle designer many years ago worked fine

have thought of using word processor or speared sheet converts forms created in application control objects (fields) exports directly pdf format?

 

apache openoffice.org , libre office both claim able that. have used openoffice.org , list boxes , combo boxes 1 can pre-populate fields , values carry over. best part both products ask donation.
