How to automatically import edited photos into an ever-changing nested folder?

i have 1 master catalog of tens of thousands of photos. catalog consists of hundreds of numerically organized folders. each of contains raw images 1 memory card.

i create new, numbered folder each download of raw photos cameras' memory cards , use lightroom transfer photos card reader. way of new folders , raw photos appear in lightroom catalog.

later edit few of photos , place edited jpegs subfolder nested under source raw image folder.

the problem nested subfolders , edited photos not show in lightroom library. happen, need import photos , subfolder lightroom. forget. when happens, subfolder not show in library. serious problem because have hundreds of these subfolders. if not appear automatically in lightroom library, not know , edited photos exist.

is there way lightroom cc automatically import these nested subfolders , edited photos within? remember create new source folder each raw download/lightroom import, , edited jpegs folder nested under each of raw image, imported folders.

thank you.

first, let me answer question, , i'd try convince not @ all... i'd encourage read way through reasoning avoiding work flow style unless need reason.

to import images:

- can import folders in several ways - 1 dragging folders lightroom icon in task bar, opens import screen selected folders. then, change import type "add" imports @ current location.

- click "import" , navigate folders.

- (when exporting jpgs) choose option reimport images lightroom.

why @ all? when edit images in lightroom, have edited photo already. why want export jpg (likely inferior copy) editing baked in? better export jpg images when need send them somewhere (to print service, web site, in email) , rely on original edited image in lightroom.

within lightroom, can use virtual copies create multiple versions of original image (with different treatments, crop sizes, etc) based on single original image. there no need export copies , bring them in lightroom (except in rare cases copy required part of specific workflow). can export jpg lightroom time need based on original.

if import jpg images, you'll have 2 of - besides wasting disk space, clutters things, , makes searching , future editing more cumbersome.
