Multi-Camera Source Sequence – Deliverables (for Sound Mix)

hello!

 

i'm beginning work editing feature documentary. first project of scale have ever done, i'm learning go, want make sure don't set myself trouble @ end.

 

the documentary use edits multiple interviews throughout timeline. each of these interviews feature following components:

 

master (a-camera)

b camera

external recorder (2 .wav files)

 

the master camera runs throughout entire interview, canon c300, files .mxf. additional camera cuts throughout (yes know not involved until post). dslr.  audio want have access sound mix in-camera shotgun master, , 2-tracks external recorder.

 

i creating multi-camera source sequences each interview. intend make first edit of film using master (a-camera) , later on deciding whether or not make cut-aways additional cameras. these multi-camera sequences following:

 

first address b camera. put multiple clips in sequence audio zoom. run sequence through pluralize, export the sequence dslr (b-camera) 1 continuous combined clip. creates prores clip the  short shots b-camera taken throughout interview. there black spaces when operator not recording. i export audio internal mic on camera. in other words, when there "black spaces" when camera not recording there no audio. new file call "dslr merged"

 

i having trouble getting multi-camera sequence recognize both .wav files external recorder, found solution nesting 2 files - 01.wav , 02.wav (boom , lav) - in new sequence.

 

then make bin master (a-camera), dslr merged, , nested audio sequence. right-click bin > 'create multi-camera source sequence' (sync using audio) , voila, works. synced, can cut between different camera angles, , can choose audio track want listen in editing sequence solo-ing track. (i because lavs can distracting!)

 

i apologize excessive set up! thought if reads , sees problem down line save me! regardless, question will have trouble delivering project sound-mixer?

 

i not mixing audio in premiere. else , use whatever software sound mixer uses. imagine give them audio files , xml/edl premiere work editing points. multi-camera sequence cause problems? able access multiple audio tracks connected in multi-clip? (even 2 .wav files in own nested sequence?)

 

hopefully clear. i'm learning go, both in terms of feature film , doc workflow , getting in-depth multi-clips new me.
