Lost Project. Audition didn't autosave, even though settings are set to.

it seems lost 6 hours of work. during export of .mp3 of session, computer died. have been saving @ every juncture, @ least once ever 30 minutes if not more. have preferences set auto-save every 10 minutes

its supposed backup creative cloud files.  looked in folder. not there. if @ times under "date modified" column, you'll notice there gap approx 1-4 pm.  

i working entire period , saving every couple minutes mentioned above.

 

what happening here? professional sound engineer deadline coming up. i'll super bummed if doesn't resolved. bummed enough jump ship pro-tools.

i can't back, i'm afraid, can put bit of perspective on it, , in future.

 

one of huge problem form of cloud storage relying on several things in place, , stay correctly in place if going use backups. firstly, local connection internet, secondly internet infrastructure, , thirdly cloud service (which have 0 control over) - , that's lot of opportunities problems, i'd say. several hours of disconnect in middle of chain easily misreported machine.

 

and when @ perspective, i'd pretty rules out form of reliable backup, , it's why don't use ever purpose, , never would.

 

here in situations cannot afford form of failure (like yesterday's live recording of unique musical event). firstly don't record on computer - use hardware purpose, , backup hardware. said, happy have backup on local machine, frankly it's of faff in live situation; hardware's easier set , control. also, use ups. can't go on recording it, can achieve organised shut-down without form of loss.

 

jumping ship protools no solution anything; backup situation need address. safest local solution local external drive on pc, these pretty reliable , removed. long-term session backups go blu ray discs, they're big enough, , have long enough life if stored correctly not problem in lifetime!

 

i'm sorry can't more - it's bummer losing work through system failure. happened me once, , it's caused me not rely absolutely on software controlled computing anything.
