What GPU's will connect to an iMac?

run after effects cs6 version 11.0.4 on a

 

imac

      27-inch, late 2012

      3.2 ghz intel core i5

      32gb ram 1333 mhz ddr3

      hard drive 7200rpm

      graphics - nvidia geforce gtx 675mx 1024 mb

      have 64bit os

      os x 10.9.5 (13f34)

 

i need gpu use ray-traced 3d

 

will nvidia quadro 4000 mac work computer?

 

also, has usb3 , thunderbolt ports,

as imac in 1 system, there no gpu upgrade option.

using nvidia quadro 4000 requires mac pro.  the model identifier should macpro3,1 or macpro4,1 (2008 or 2009) or later (but not later 2013).  macpro1,1 , macpro2,1 not compatible.  more on quadro 4000, visit quadro 4000 mac page on nvidia's website (quadro 4000 mac – mac pro graphics card 3d design, styling, visualization, cad, , more ).

 

you can still ray-tracing, not on gpu.
