Premiere Pro CC not playing videos smoothly for me

my computer

 

macbook pro 15"
512gb of ssd
16gb of ram
2.5ghz quad core i7
2gb nvidia geforce gt 750m

 

so pretty powerful laptop, no reason premiere pro lagging behind me.
my problem i'm editing video in 4k phone. playback on screen 1/8 of quality. (i have sped video footage in parts 1000%)
but plays fine after plays part of video rest begins lag , have stop playback, more playhead 2 cuts , watch again hoping doesn't stop jumping on me again.

 

 

i thought mac strong enough , premiere pro.

it makes little sense me mac graphics card , powerful cpu make video studded much. since have quality of video @ 1/8.

those specs desktop not considered strong machine editing in prpro ... plus, don't mention @ disc layout of project. can huge part of determining playback.

 

there mountain of reading & writing going on while prpro playing-back project, , you've done things speed sections way , such ... i'll compare desktop laptop ...

 

i7 3.7ghz (as recall, @ laptop of moment) w/32gb ram, gtx990 w 4gb vram;

twin-250gb ssd's in raid 0 system (os) , programs;

single 250gb ssd system & prpro cache/database files;

internal 1.5 tb & larger spinning hd's, 1 each for:

-previews

-project files

-media

-exports

 

so editing projects spread out on 6 different internal disks, of them ssd's. spreads out reading & writing avoiding choke-points while cpu sits waiting data off-loaded , other loaded in.

 

if you're running on 1 ssd drive, you've got in/out choke point right there. throw on using phone footage variable frame rate rather constant frame rate prpro built use, , can stuttering behavior ... 1000% speed-changes, whatever else you've got ... yea, prpro going slowed computer combined media type.
