Which audio interface should I buy for Audition CC?

hello,

 

i've read through many of these threads , seem knowledgeable , willing noobs such myself. i'm sure you're tired of question because of multitude of variables, looking acquire audio interface , wondered if offer suggestions based on needs, i'll attempt describe in detail below.

 

i purchased windows 10 laptop 3 usb 3.0 ports. have adobe audition cc 2015 running on it, [not responding] errors occurring when accidentally click , forth multitrack edit view quickly, or when i'm not judicious in use of fx. can say, i'm learning!

 

i plan use reaper program midi tracks using usb cable directly roland td11 , korg triton extreme laptop. i'll render these files uncompressed wavs , export audition.

 

my typical workflow layering solo tracks on top of each other, prefer use minimum amount of cords , switch out instruments, due lack of space. ability record @ least 2 instruments simultaneously however, in case guest musicians stop by. don't plan record live bands.

 

these instruments i'll using:

 

-e-drums (it's possible i'll record line in audio in addition midi tracks described above)

-keyboard (same e-drums, use audio line in midi)
-acoustic/electric guitar (i'll variously record line in or miked depending on sounds better)
-acoustic/electric bass (line in mostly, assume)
-lap steel guitar (line in)
-banjo, ukelele (mic)
-vocals (mic)
-various hand percussion (mic)

the output think need on interface heaphones; line out laptop set of speakers test mixes.

 

in researching interfaces came across motu ultralite-mk3, seems take burden off processor. think option?
i don't understand why need 6 outputs though. monitors? i'm not clear on difference between line-level, instrument, hi-z, , combo xlr/quarter inch jacks.

there number of suitable audio interfaces can buy , budget comes in it.

the motu fine rme, focusrite, etc.

 

hi-z allows plug electric guitar in without using di , combo input means plus in microphone using xlr , line level things keyboards , like.

 

a number of different outputs means set different speakers ab mix.

 

as want not have lot of background processing happening when running audio apps audition check out might 'not responding' issue
