Why is there a white area still showing?

hello, i've been using illustrator month , can't understand why there single white area showing between letters 'th' in 'everything' on artwork when place in photoshop. when delete space between letters in illustrator, shows solid black , i've managed transparency on of artwork i've completed far. pointers?

here's what's happening when place .ai file in photoshop.

 

looks compound path isn't working quite right.

try using shape builder tool on 'thing' section.

 

turn on transparency grid in ai, or place coloured block behind wording in .ai can see compound paths workign o.k.

 

also... if end result shown , raster output, quicker result may set layer darken, or multiply in photoshop.

you can paint white on layer below if want 'is' remain white.
