How to cut off or erase lines outside of my shape border?

hello,

i'm pretty new photoshop , i've been stuck trying figure out how few days , decided post , see if assistance.

i'm trying cut or erase lines outside of custom shape...

to explain or give example, lets have custom shape resembling outline of t-shirt.

now on t-shirt want draw white horizontal lines/stripes using line tool.

when draw lines don't line edges, run them they're poking out border of t-shirt bit.

now want cut or erase lines outside t-shirt border i'm having trouble.

what best way achieve this? eraser or pathfinder tool?

what want create own horizontal lines simulate stripes on t-shirt , use fill tool fill stripes on shirt different colors.

please, appreciated.

i've considered buying illustrator i'm sure there's way of achieving same result in ps.

much appreciated,

you can put lines on same shape layer , use clipping mask keep lines within shirt.

click on shape layer lines above shirt layer , go layer>create clipping mask.

at first still looks same, seeing paths.

click on shirt layer , lines should within shirt.

you can double click on shape layer thumbnail in layers panel change color of lines.
