import problems in lightroom cc / windows 10

 

i'm having problems importing batch of photos recent shoot. i'm importing pictures, shot same camera on same day, sd card hard drive using "copy dng" option.  original files nikon raw (.nef) format jpg sidecars.  out of 292 files attempted in import, 7 converted .dng format , make catalog.  remaining files have been copied hard drive not converted .dng , not appear in catalog.  when attempt import , convert remaining files copied hard drive not converted dng or added catalog, files display check box fail converted or added catalog.

 

i've tried copying originals directly folder on hard drive , doing lightroom import there , similar result.

 

i'm running lightroom cc on windows 10 pc.  idea causing issue?

first why converting dng? lr cc reads nikon nef files fine.

 

have tried copying images folder on drive , importing nefs no conversion during import?

 

start new catalog , test importing nef files no converting dng.
