Background Mode Geolocation

app runs on ios , android, built using phonegap build.

 

the app background mode geolocation, records coordinates local database sent server later. simple, not lot going on here.

 

my app built using github - katzer/cordova-plugin-background-mode plugin, works great far operation of app , easy set up. unfortunately, apple app store dislikes plugin , regardless of how many times appeal keep rejecting it. uses audio component un-needed , not allowed.

 

the other background mode geolocation plugin have found cordova background geolocation (premium) – transistor software looks great, lots of power, though more complicated setup. creator responsive , has been great @ answering questions.  hope use plugin future project, in case of current project has couple limitations. 1) geolocation based on minimum distance traveled , 2) relies on cellphone tower change event.

 

my client wants new location every 15 mins regardless if have moved or not, time interval important using data for.  can come work around that, app being used in remote location single, or no cell tower, covering area, means possible tower change event never occur.

 

so questions:

 

1) there other phonegap plugins allow background mode geolocations?

2) found way background-mode plugin accepted app store

1. might check out github - mauron85/cordova-plugin-background-geolocation: sophisticated background , foreground geolocation plugin … , have no idea if different or better.

2. no. it's using trick in order go keep app running, , apple isn't going approve that. if need enterprise app, don't have go through app store, in case plugin acceptable. on app store, it's no-go.
