Need help with auto scroll/crawl of external text [AS2]

i'm relatively new coding , have run against problem task , use help.

 

my goal code perform following:

1. load variable amount external text file.

2. able switch between automatically scrolling vertically or crawl/marquee horizontally.

   (does not need loop, if simple enough include option useful future)

3. control speed of scroll/crawl.

 

the limiting factor needs in actionscript 2.0 , can't higher flash 8. due program .swf being imported into.

 

i able external text in code:

 

mydata = new loadvars();

mydata.onload = function()

{

  textbox.text = this.typenews;

};

mydata.load("//.../textnews.txt");

 

i have not been able auto scroll/crawl text without putting textbox on motion path , controlling speed adding frames. not ideal limits amount of text size of text box create.
