3D camera tracking on lower resolution

first thank wonderful software : )

i'm beginner.

 

when apply 3d camera tracker 3 minutes 1080p video - handheld shot, bit shaky - in example shot simple soccer goal-frame without moving much, 2 steps or so, around initial position, note background consists of trees , plants wind,

on new laptop (quad core i7, 16gb of ram),

the computation long (about 45min) , gets stuck on "camera solving".

 

when apply tracker on 1 minute extract, it's 15minutes of calculation , works.

 

my question : because in near future want apply tracker on longer videos (about 5 minutes or more), i'm looking method work !

is realistic ?

 

here's small thing tried : used handbrake output lower resolution of original video (700p width), , applied tracker on it.

it worked , calculation faster. derived solid tracked points chose. works in 700p video.

 

but, this, how solid in original 1080p video ? tried copy&paste solid in 1080p video tracking isnot anymore.

your newness showing. try next time watch movie or tv show. count number of seconds between cuts. 90% of work on in after effects under 10 seconds. sticking on single shot 5 minutes loose audience.

 

what want pre-edit stuff , process shots going use.

 

now camera tracker. it's insane resource hog , 5 minute camera track difficult software. can't camera track smaller version (smaller frame size) , have things work out in larger comp. can't camera track low resolution proxy because of detail want track going lost track not good.

 

also, , can't bust rule. shots not camera track. have have fair amount of fixed geometry in scene , may have eliminate bunch of trackers if there lot of other motion going on in scene. if want camera tracking have plan shots guarantee can tracked.

 

one more time... it's nuts try , run camera track on 5 minute shot unless think absolutely have use entire 5 minute shot in movie. if have you'll have careful.  if camera tracking insert 3d objects in scene need camera track part of shot 3d objects going in frame. iow, walk down sidewalk 5 minutes , pass store want change sign in. pass area of sign 7 seconds cut shot , camera track 7 seconds need.
