Audition CC 2016 Record 2 mics with audio interface help
i've got 2 audio technica mics running through audiobox usb interface, macbook pro (os x el capitan). whenever hit record, can ever mic 1 work. how can fix , both mics recording? i'm pretty new software, , i've found dated solutions have not yet proven helpful.
thank you.
okay should relatively simple.
first off, go edit/preferences/audio hardware menu. make sure audiobox , drivers set record , playback devices. use windows machine , m audio interfaces exact phrasing bit different should easy enough identify right device. note on windows may have go windows audio control , set presonus default device there's chance might have go core audio , similar--this isn't case.
next, you're better off recording in multitrack screen each mic can have it's own channel. go file/new/multitrack session , fill in details you're asked name, sample rate , bit depth etc.
next, important bit: on multitrack screen there's box @ left hand end of each track things level , pan controls and...important you...the input selector. box besides right-facing arrow. click on , in drop down menu can select mono, stereo or few other options. select mono , this, in turn, give drop down menu available inputs. again, exact wording vary interface should find "presonus mic 1" or similar. select that.
repeat process in track 2 time choose second input.
arm both tracks recording (the red r in same box @ left end of track) , when hit record on transport controls, mic 1 in track 1 , mic 2 in track 2. note that, depending on want record, have selected stereo , used 2 mics left , right in single track...but prefer keep things separate mix down stereo later--just personal preference.
note if recording in format lot, can save configuration session template avoid needing set individual tracks each time. set up, hit file/export/session template before record anything. you'll offered template on new multitrack session each time start new project.
hope helps.
