Catalog issues

in lightroom 5 tried open photo files

by hitting open catalog. hit on lightroom

5 catalog icon, didn't show me files.

it asked me if wanted relaunch. did

relaunch , cannot find of photo

files unless got "computer" on pc.

 

my catalogue stored in external

drive. when relaunched, saw no mention

made of external dirve, whole

lot of writing referring c drive.

 

could please answer following.

 

 

1)what have done relaunching? in two

lightroom books find no mention of word.

 

2)how return things normal , find photos in (external drive?) catalog?

 

when you're looking photo files, open catalog?

i don't understand did, i'm guessing have accidentally opened wrong catalog.

 

in lightroom, go file->open recent , select each of catalogs shown there see if contains photos want.
