Lightroom Catalog can not open because it is still open in another application

since yesterday can not open lightroom. says lightroom catalog can not open because still open in application. when have no active programs. started after had force shut down because pc got stuck. help? thx!!

when lightroom opened, lock file created prevent others accessing catalog. normally, file deleted when close lighroom, if doesn't close down because of freeze or power failure, might not deleted. error message saying catalog open in application, , can't launch lr.

 

using explorer/finder, go folder contains catalog.

delete file ends .lock. don't delete else. try launch lightroom.

Sizing images of multiple resolutions for print on a page of one resolution

this may basic photoshop question betrays lack of experience digital workspace, i'd know how lay out multiple images of varying resolutions on 300 ppi page intended print.   say have 3 images: 1 300 ppi, 3 x 4 inches,  4 x 5 inches, 900 ppi , third 4 x 5 inches, 600 ppi.   i've created single page 300 ppi, 8 x 10 inches. images fit, physical size. when drop 600 ppi , 900 ppi images page, blow twice , 3 times space, spoiling efforts lay them out. similarly, if cut ppi on higher-ppi images 300, blow well.   the possible option see might work resample/bicubic automatic. wouldn't reduce quality of image?   thanks! an image file single file no matter how many layers , images , image sizes  in there 1 resolution 1 resolution layers  , images have same resolution setting current resolution set document or file.   you can process image file , save out files have different resolution , different image size open image.  batch using photoshop  im...
