Adobe Ae is missing an important step in the tutorial.

my question setting maximum disc cache size, , creating folder it. see below.

what do? guy in tutorial mentions it's important, never gets answering it.

step one, click view tutorial ae

 

step 2          under  2.essential beginners> click on create first project , video should play.

 

 

step 3       skip 2:36 in video, , watch how question never gets answered.

 

step 4     go 1:05 in video , ask why tutorial guy told , support link takes , support.

hey filmandgo, important do, , you're right, nice if covered in video.

 

it's practice have separate drive dedicated disk caching. however, if you're going this, want fast drive ssd. have usb 3 256 gb ssd adobe disk cache. allows software write , retrieve cache files. have preview/render files premiere write drive. set after effects cache 100 gb, , gets overwritten needed. these files available after restart after effects, long nothing has changed. if cache timeline @ half res you'll green render bar. if switch quarter or full, you'll have re-render, right? if quit ae , opened , saw blue bar (while viewing @ half res) means there cached files on disk , when render timeline you'll see green bar build much, much, quicker, , that's because ae pulling files cache drive.

 

the idea behind having dedicated drive not slow else down. should have 1 drive software, internal disk; fast drive media, such thunderbolt raid; , ideally, drive cache files. note won't helping if plug usb 2 drive machine try use caching drive. must fast or won't see benefit.
