Custom Page Numbering to Footer Doesn't Work

i have used number pages command in page thumbnails view renumber pages. page 1 835-101, page 2 835-102, etc. these labels shown under page icon in page thumbnails pane , on main toolbar navigating pages next up/down arrows. appears work fine.

 

then went tools, pages, header & footer, add header &footer dialog , used insert page number button.

 

all number pages 1, 2, 3, etc.
