Invalid serial number

i/m transferring lightroom 5 laptop desktop. have files backed-up , downloaded trial of lr on desktop. when pops continue trial, buy, or input serial number, put serial number in message says it's invalid. it's correct. i've checked several times , re-typed whole thing.

anyone else have problem?

any suggestions great! i'm shooting wedding tomorrow , love edit on our new computer!

did download lr 5.7.1 or maybe latest lr6 mistake?

Catalog issues

in lightroom 5 tried open photo files by hitting open catalog. hit on lightroom 5 catalog icon, didn't show me files. it asked me if wanted relaunch. did relaunch , cannot find of photo files unless got "computer" on pc.   my catalogue stored in external drive. when relaunched, saw no mention made of external dirve, whole lot of writing referring c drive.   could please answer following.     1)what have done relaunching? in two lightroom books find no mention of word.   2)how return things normal , find photos in (external drive?) catalog?   when you're looking photo files, open catalog?     thank you,   al marotta i don't understand did, i'm guessing have accidentally opened wrong catalog.   in lightroom, go file->open recent , select each of catalogs shown there see if contains photos want.
