How to send a two Objects to the same Layer (when one of them is already in the layer)?

here situation.

i have object in layer 1.

i have object b in layer 2.

now selecting both object , object b together.

i want send both of them layer 1 (with object in layer 1)

adobe illustrator cc doesn't allow me @ command of (objects > send current layer).

i find troublesome.

older ai allow this, not new adobe illustrator cc.

do have solution this?

try other way

just lock layer 1, cut object b in layer 2-- unlock layer 1>paste in place
