Problem with importing photos to Lightroom CC

hello,

when try importing photos hard drive lightroom cc, hangs. kill import , says no photos or such,but lr won't start again until restart pc. have tried multiple times same result

 

i think catalog may corrupt although lr doesn't so. don't know how restore catalog although have backups. tried opening 1 of backups directly navigating it, unzipping file got similar result.

 

a couple of questions come mind:

 

how restore catalog

the catalog large - time archive of older photos - how best this?

i kill import , says no photos or such

please quote complete exact word-for-word error message. thumbnails of photos appear in import dialog box? how far in import process things working properly?

importing problems not indicate corrupt catalog. if catalog corrupt, wouldn't open.

none of related importing problems. there no need restore catalog unless there other issues haven't mentioned. archiving of photos (at least way understand term "archiving") unnecessary (but making regular backups of photos , catalog file necessary).

Sizing images of multiple resolutions for print on a page of one resolution

this may basic photoshop question betrays lack of experience digital workspace, i'd know how lay out multiple images of varying resolutions on 300 ppi page intended print.   say have 3 images: 1 300 ppi, 3 x 4 inches,  4 x 5 inches, 900 ppi , third 4 x 5 inches, 600 ppi.   i've created single page 300 ppi, 8 x 10 inches. images fit, physical size. when drop 600 ppi , 900 ppi images page, blow twice , 3 times space, spoiling efforts lay them out. similarly, if cut ppi on higher-ppi images 300, blow well.   the possible option see might work resample/bicubic automatic. wouldn't reduce quality of image?   thanks! an image file single file no matter how many layers , images , image sizes  in there 1 resolution 1 resolution layers  , images have same resolution setting current resolution set document or file.   you can process image file , save out files have different resolution , different image size open image.  batch using photoshop  im...

Illustrator cs6 "Invalid Serial Number"

i trying re-install adobe illustrator cs6 on new machine users old machine being retired. when enter serial no invalid message. i work ministry of transportation, ontario , purchased volume licensing. make things better, original person deployed doesn't work here anymore. have following if needed:   order number end user purchase number reseller purchase order number agreement number   please help chris for licencing issues have contact adobe support directly no 1 in forum can or here.
