Photshop images are "negative colors"

i installed adobe cs6 suite on new laptop , photoshop shows images "negative" colors.

 

adobe elements displays picture fine.  video driver date , correct.  haven't changed preferences.

 

also, if save image different name, thumbnail looks fine , opens fine in elements.

 

it's photoshop (tried x32 , x64 exe's) issue.  uninstalled , reinstalled program.

 

what missing?
