i trying catalogue 1 tb drive has on 470 gbs of files in raw form. organizer has been running 24 hrs. now. normal? i'm using mac running el capitan 8 gb of memory. other app running on it, browser.

unless facing 1 various bugs in apple el capitan can't (i using windows) should happen when importing files in catalogue 2 phases process:

- drive scanned , organizer writes data files in catalogue database (location, exif data). process fast.

- second task run background task open each file (implies converting each raw file) , create small thumbnail. may require 5 20 seconds per raw file depending on hardware. catalogue of 100.000 raw files, indeed, takes many hours. it's background task, , should not prevent use catalog , organizer, since cache builds thumbnails displayed images in priority.

Sizing images of multiple resolutions for print on a page of one resolution

this may basic photoshop question betrays lack of experience digital workspace, i'd know how lay out multiple images of varying resolutions on 300 ppi page intended print.   say have 3 images: 1 300 ppi, 3 x 4 inches,  4 x 5 inches, 900 ppi , third 4 x 5 inches, 600 ppi.   i've created single page 300 ppi, 8 x 10 inches. images fit, physical size. when drop 600 ppi , 900 ppi images page, blow twice , 3 times space, spoiling efforts lay them out. similarly, if cut ppi on higher-ppi images 300, blow well.   the possible option see might work resample/bicubic automatic. wouldn't reduce quality of image?   thanks! an image file single file no matter how many layers , images , image sizes  in there 1 resolution 1 resolution layers  , images have same resolution setting current resolution set document or file.   you can process image file , save out files have different resolution , different image size open image.  batch using photoshop  im...

i trying re-install adobe illustrator cs6 on new machine users old machine being retired. when enter serial no invalid message. i work ministry of transportation, ontario , purchased volume licensing. make things better, original person deployed doesn't work here anymore. have following if needed:   order number end user purchase number reseller purchase order number agreement number   please help chris for licencing issues have contact adobe support directly no 1 in forum can or here.
