Overexposed background, can't change without changing person in front

hye!

 

i'm having bit of problem. searched through tutorials , topics, can't seem find solution. have image bad lighting.

i make background bit darker, it's not overexposed now. of tools tried, make person in front darker well, not i'm looking for.i tried brightness , contrast, fast color generator, three-way color corrector. none seems work.  there 1 can me?

use curves effect in lumitri panel , bring down highlights, won't gain detal though.
