When I open Lightroom, the opening screen locks up and doesn't open the program. Any help would be appreciated?

whenever open lightroom 6, opening screen stalls , goes no further.  can tell me how fix this, please?

which operating system have: windows or mac?

check if process shown not responding under activity monitor/task manager.

 

also, make sure program updated version 6.5: keeping lightroom up-to-date
