custom class with linking states, my syntax right or wrong?

hi,

not sure if accurate, syntax wise? - trying target specific class link style not globally affect header nav links or footer linking styles.
is right or wrong?

<style>

a.desctxt:link {

    color: #cc033c;

    text-decoration: none;

}

/* visited link */

a.desctxt:visited {

    color: #cc033c;

    text-decoration: none;

}

/* mouse on link */

a.desctxt:hover {

    color: #ff4c39;

    text-decoration: underline;

}

/* selected link */

a.desctxt:active {

    color: #cc033c;

    text-decoration: none;

}

</style>

thank you!

as long you're attempting target <a> tags class="desctxt" , want original, visited , "while clicking" colors same, you're go.
