Text effect

hello,

 

could please show me steps need take in illustrator create 2 effects below.

1. add shape , colour text

2. create teardrop terminals

 

i know how create text outlines i'm not sure how proceed.

for shape make copy of letters , move up.

for colorization etc. use live paint tool (read in documentation)

 

the drops need drawn pen tool
